Big Dutchman Southern Africa is currently completing a turnkey broiler project in Zimbabwe, consisting of a single house with capacity for 30,000 birds. The project includes the full scope of works – building construction, steel structure, electrical installation, and Big Dutchman feeding, drinking, and ventilation equipment – creating a fully integrated and production-ready facility.
A standout feature of this project is the addition of a solar power installation, which is still in progress. By incorporating renewable energy, the farm will benefit from reduced operating costs, a reliable power supply, and greater sustainability, ensuring uninterrupted operation of critical poultry systems even during grid outages.
Once finished, this project will serve as a model for how modern poultry farms in Southern Africa can successfully integrate renewable energy with advanced production technology.
